With a little luck, our pandemic will be over by the time we read about the devastation caused by a virulent flu virus in Dog Star. Our protagonist, Hig, and his dog Jasper are among the few survivors. Holed up in an airplane hangar with his 1956 Cessna, Hig hears a random transmission through the plane’s radio. Hopeful that a better life exists outside his present perimeter, Hig flies past its limits and finds a strange new world.
