This is Ted’s debut novel, and it brings together Omaha at the turn of the century, the Boss Dennison era in Omaha politics, race relations (including the 1919 race riot), and the beginning of modern American culture.
Ted is in the English department at Creighton; it was a major accomplishment for his first novel to be published by a major American publisher (Little, Brown).
Ted’s most recent novel, his third, also from Little, Brown, just won the Nebraska book award for fiction. —Bob Whipple
